The Administrative Center for China’s Agenda 21 Convenes the 2021 Annual Meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Ocean and Polar Science and Technology

On 18 January, the Administrative Center for China’s Agenda 21 convened the 2021 annual meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Ocean and Polar Science and Technology online and offline. As China took over the BRICS presidency this year, representatives from the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China introduced the plans to promote cooperation in science and technology innovation from four major aspects: achievements, flagship programs, the Youth Forum, and technology transfer. The Chinese Secretariat of the Working Group briefed on the latest trends on international technology innovation in ocean and polar science and technology, summarizing meetings, programs, and results they had last year, proposing potential cooperation under the framework of the Ocean Decade, and outlining the vision for 2022.
