The 2022 BRICS Sports Ministers Meeting kicked off
The 2022 BRICS
Sports Ministers Meeting was held online on Nov.1, presided by Gao Zhidan,
Director General of the General Administration of Sport of China. Also joined
the meeting were Mr. Gao’s BRICS counterparts, including Mthethwa of South
Africa, Ronaldo Bento of Brazil, Oleg Matytsin of Russia, and Nisith Pramanik of
India. They adopted the Joint Statement of the BRICS Sports Ministers Meeting
2022.
Participants
reviewed the results of BRICS sports cooperation in recent years, discussed in
depth the cooperation in mass sports, competitive sports, sports industry and
international sports affairs, and reached a broad consensus. They appreciated
China's success of holding the 2022 BRICS Games and the Sports Ministers
Meeting in an innovative way, and its contribution to promoting BRICS sports
cooperation.
