The First Innovation Training Base of the GDPC Opens in Xiamen

An
inaugural ceremony was held on the morning of January 16 in Xiamen for the
first innovation training base of the Global Development Promotion Center
(GDPC). The Innovation Training Base is located at the BRICS PartNIR Innovation
Center (BPIC).
The
Global Development Promotion Center (GDPC), which opened on November 12, 2022,
is based at the China International Development Cooperation Agency. The GDPC serves
a platform foar allocating resources, coordinating actions, pooling ideas and
promoting visions in response to General-Secretary Xi Jinping’s Global Development
Initiative. The BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center (BPIC), in adherence to the
BRICS spirit of openness,
inclusiveness and mutually beneficial cooperation, is dedicated to promoting
technological advancement, economic prosperity and social development. As such,
the BPIC
is in perfect accord with China’s vision for international development
cooperation and with the mission and tasks of the Global Development
Initiative.
Thus,
the Innovation Training Base, affiliated with the BPIC, is primarily targeted at
the “Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative”
and is intended to strengthen the exchange of governance experience and sharing
of development knowledge and to enhance capacity building for developing
countries to achieve the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The official
inauguration of the Innovation Training Base represents a significant early
outcome of the efforts to consolidate the Global Development Initiative. Focused
on development themes, the Innovation Training Base will be dedicated to
tapping regional advantages, unleashing new impetus for growth and adding more
substance to the Global Development Initiative.
