On the morning of July 25, 2023 Preserving the Maritime Cultural Heritage, a training program co-organized by the Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center and Xiamen University, began in earnest. The training program aims to provide various courses and cutting-edge knowledge on Chinese history, culture, and other academic fields for excellent participants from not only BRICS, but also other emerging markets and developing countries. It could stimulate exchanges and interactions among these participants, enabling them to experience the opportunities created by Chinese modernization.

The two-week program served as an immersive learning platform embedded in China’s socio-cultural context, which covered a range of courses relating to cultural heritage preservation and focused on poverty reduction, connectivity, green development, and other aspects of the Global Development Initiative.
