The ninth BRICS Policy Lecture was conducted on the morning of September 1 with the theme "Interpretation of the BRICS Summit in South Africa: New Beginning, New Vitality, New Chapter".

The lecture invited Xu Xiujun, Executive Director and Researcher of the BRICS Research Base of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, to provide a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the outcome of the 15th BRICS Leaders' Meeting, held in August in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Xu Xiujun systematically summarized the three major highlights of the meeting, including the beginning of a new journey for the expansion of the BRICS mechanism, new trends in monetary and financial cooperation, and new progress in scientific and technological innovation cooperation. He analyzed the new situation, changes, and trends of BRICS cooperation through detailed data and anticipated the future development of BRICS cooperation in terms of mechanism construction.
